Top 5: Berry Lips

Berry lips are a fall makeup classic. Here are my picks. There are so many things to love about fall - from pumpkin everything, to fall foliage and cozy sweaters - and transitioning into bolder makeup is one of my favorites.  I have a ton of makeup (as evidenced here) so choosing my top five berry lip colors was no easy task, but here are the ones that made the cut.

Berry lips are a fall makeup classic. Here are swatches of my picks.1. MAC Lipstick in Amorous.  This is a gorgeous pinky-mauve lipstick that is super wearable and flattering.  The formula is creamy and long-lasting and I find myself reaching for this more than any of the other lipsticks here because it is so versatile and just really pretty.  Sometimes I get caught up with trying to "make a statement" with my makeup, but this lipstick is flattering and simple, and sometimes that's all you need.

2. NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Club Mix.  I really enjoy the Velvet Gloss formula because it's shiny but not too sticky.  The pencil form means it's easy to apply and this is a lovely, creamy and rich berry shade.  This is deeper than Amorous, but still great for everyday wear.

3. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Toundra.  This is the most unique shade of the bunch because of the metallic finish.  It's a rich berry shade that is also long-lasting, but can be a tad drying, so I have to make sure my lips are moisturized before application.  If you want something different, check this one out.

4. MAC Lipglass in Flight of Fancy. So, MAC lipglass is known for being super-sticky, but it will always have a place in my heart because these products were some of my first makeup purchases.  I love the depth and complexity of this shade and it's very pigmented, so this is great for a sexy and bold look.

5. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Midnight Plum.  The Color Sensational line is fantastic because it's very pigmented and creamy.  When it comes to bold lip colors, it seems like you have to sacrifice comfort for color, but that's not the case with this lipstick.  Midnight Plum is a deep, berry shade that is so lovely on, and the price makes it a no-brainer.
