The Best Lipstick Formulas (It's National Lipstick Day!)
In honor of today being National Lipstick Day, I decided to feature my favorite lipstick formulas. These are the best lipsticks that I've tried in terms of comfort. I prefer creamy lipsticks because they are more forgiving on the lips and aren't too fussy to apply. To be totally honest, there are some lipsticks that I love for their colors and finishes, but am not super impressed with how they feel on the lips (MAC comes to mind). So, even though most of my lipsticks are MAC, I only featured their Sheen Supreme formula because it's the most moisturizing and comfortable on the lips in my opinion. So, without further ado, here are the best lipstick formulas...1. Jouer Hydrating Lipstick in Meredith. I mentioned this when I reviewed my Le Matchbox Spring Box (here) and I love how creamy and moisturizing this lipstick is. I think creaminess is especially important when it comes to nude colors because they can really emphasize the texture of the lips. This formula is great for everyday.2. Maybelline New York Color Sensational in Truffle Tease. This is the best budget lipstick that I've tried. Oftentimes, we get lower quality when we have a lower price, but luckily that's not the case with this lipstick. This formula is so smooth and lasts a decent amount of time, too.3. MAC Sheen Supreme in Can't Get Enough. Continuing with my creamy nude theme, this formula is awesome because it's moisturizing and has a really pretty shimmer finish. That finish is what makes it different from a typical nude because it prevents your lips from looking too flat.4. YSL Rouge Volupte. I've had this so long that the number has worn off! This is probably my favorite lipstick formula ever because it is incredibly creamy and moisturizing. It just feels really good on the lips and there's no need to use a lip balm underneath it.5. Tom Ford Lips and Boys in Wes. No best lipstick post would be complete without Tom Ford! I like how pigmented this is with just one swipe. That's really important with darker shades, and I also enjoy how this is still smooth. Sometimes darker shades tug on the lips or just don't apply that well, but that's definitely not an issue with this one.6. Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick. This is the nude color that I created last month in New York (see more swatches here) and this formula is really incredible. Bite Beauty makes some of the smoothest lipsticks and I really love the smell too. Another plus is that these shades seem to last longer than a typical lipstick because they are very pigmented as well.7. NARS Audacious in Dominique. This is the least creamy of the lipsticks mentioned here, but it's still very comfortable and more long-lasting than any of the others. This formula just glides on the lips and is very, very pigmented. Definitely the most pigmented of what I've featured here. The Audacious formula costs more than NARS' regular formula, and for good reason. It's awesome. Here are some swatches (in the same order described above):What are your favorite lipsticks?Shop the post below:[xyz-ihs snippet="best-lipsticks"][line]
