I've been meaning to write an empties post for a while now, so here's a review of products that I've used and loved lately.  This is basically a day and evening skincare routine and it features some of my favorite skincare products.  There were a few misses as well, but overall these are great products that would be well-suited for people with normal to dry skin and/or people living in dry climates.

Review of recent skincare favorites, including Mario Badescu Honey Moisturizer, Murad Essential C Cleanser, Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum, NARS Multi-Action Hydrating Toner, Kate Somerville Dilo Oil & Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer SPF 20. #skin #skincare #productreview

1. Mario Badescu Honey Moisturizer.  This is an awesome everyday moisturizer that I used every night.  It's very moisturizing and honey has natural anti-bacterial properties, so this will not aggravate acne-prone skin.  I also like that this is a very affordable product that lasts a long time.  While I was very happy with this when I purchased this during the winter, as the weather warmed and I was no longer in heated rooms, I felt this was a bit too heavy.  It didn't clog my pores or suffocate my skin, but I noticed the shiny finish, which is definitely something that I try to avoid during the summer months.  I would consider re-purchasing this once the weather cools down, but for now, I'm moving on to other moisturizers.

2. Murad Essential-C Cleanser.  I bought this months ago because I liked that it contained antioxidants meant to defend the skin from free radical damage due to environmental triggers, like air pollution and the sun.  The formula doesn't foam very much, which means that it doesn't over dry the skin.  However, I really love to use my Clarisonic brush and don't think this cleanser worked very well with it.  Overall, this is a good basic cleanser if you have normal skin, but I wasn't particularly impressed with it so I probably won't re-purchase.

3. Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum.  I somehow got my hands on a deluxe sample size of this product and really love it!  It's a very light texture that absorbs very quickly, which is crucial when you use an eye cream before applying makeup.  Sometimes eye creams can leave the eye really greasy and I was really impressed that it wasn't an issue with this product.  This product is supposed to lift, firm and hydrate the eye area, and while I didn't use it long enough to notice any lifting, it did a great job of hydrating.  I would definitely recommend this product, and was so impressed with this that I'm going to look into the face cream as well.

4. NARS Multi-Action Hydrating Toner.  I've mentioned this product before, so you know that this is a holy grail product for me.  I've already re-purchased this and will continue to do so!

5. Kate Somerville Dilo Oil.  I've yet to use a Kate Somerville product that doesn't do what it claims to do.  The Dilo Oil is meant to "strengthen the skin's moisture barrier improving skin hydration, firmness and elasticity while evening skin tone and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles."  While I can't really speak to the wrinkle-reducing claim, it definitely moisturized my skin and helped even out my skin tone.  It was moisturizing without being too heavy or greasy, so I'd definitely recommend it.  I'm using another skin oil now (obviously, lol), but I'll definitely consider re-purchasing this in the future.

6. Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer SPF 20.  This is a really great daytime moisturizer because it contains SPF.  Also, unlike many moisturizers with SPF, this did not leave an ashy or whitish cast on my skin, which is a HUGE bonus.  This is also really gentle.  My only issue was that it felt a little greasy on my face once the weather started to warm up.  Otherwise, this is a fantastic daily moisturizer if you have normal to dry skin, but it may feel a bit heavy if you have oily skin.  It's such a good product though, so I may re-purchase in the future.
