In Rotation: Mascaras

I'm pretty loyal when it comes to mascara, and here are the three mascaras that I reach for constantly. One is great for adding length, one is great for adding volume, and one does both with great results.

best lengthening mascara

By Terry Terrybly Mascara creates long, dark and glossy lashes without any clumping.  I mentioned this just last week in my October Favorites (check out that post here) and feel like I really may have to break down and by this $48 mascara!  It's really that good.  I definitely notice that the growth serum in this mascara has helped add length to my mascara, plus I love that this formula is super dark and there's no flaking.  I definitely recommend this awesome lengthening mascara.

best volumizing mascara

Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara is definitely one of my all time favorite mascaras.  If you've been reading this blog for a while, then you know I use this in almost all of my YouTube videos (like this one on an Easy Red Lip Makeup Look), and it's my go-to when I'm rushing out of the door (proof - check out my post on my Five Minute Makeup Routine).  I love this because it adds nice volume, but the brush does a great job of preventing clumps.  Plus it's only around $6, so if you're looking for an affordable but awesome mascara, this is your best bet.

best of both worlds mascara

I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I will layer different mascaras for the perfect look, but that's just because I'm high maintenance.  If you want one mascara that adds length and gives you feathery and full lashes, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is amazing.  I won't comment on whether or not it lives up to it's name, but this is a really good mascara.  The brush is really good at coating every single lash, and the formula definitely creates really pretty and full lashes.  This mascara isn't as dark as the Maybelline or By Terry versions, but it still provides a dramatic look, perfect for a night out.  I highly recommend this mascara.
