Go Nude
I love a good nude lip. It's probably my most worn lip look because it goes with everything and there really are a ton of variations. There's matte nude, peach nude, brown nude, pink nude, nude gloss. . . I could go on, but instead, I'll show you my collection and highlight my favorites.
As you can see I have quite a collection and it's really hard to choose because each nude goes with a different attitude and a different look. I mean, they're all so different, you know? But if I had to pick favorites, my top 5 nude lipsticks are:
1. YSL Rouge Volupte in No. 003. This pink nude is so creamy, opaque and so easy to apply. It looks great without a liner and the tube is super glam. Holy grail nude for me.
2. NARS Velvet Gloss in More. This color is definitely "my lips but better." It's very similar to my skin tone, but quite warm and rich, so it doesn't wash me out at all. It's also easy to apply and can be worn without a liner, so it's no-fuss.
3. MAC Siss. This is a brown nude that I usually wear with MAC Cork liner and YSL Golden Gloss in No. 20. Definitely not a low-maintenance look, but it makes my lips look like caramel. Yum.
4. MAC Entice. A opaque, peachy nude gloss. MAC lipglass is a classic, and even though it's sticky, this color is fantastic.
5. MAC Craft. This is a beige nude that looks awesome with a smokey eye. It's probably a little too dramatic for everyday because it's quite light, but it really is an awesome color.
Also, since my lips are pretty pigmented, I usually wear a nude lip pencil as a base to make sure I get a true nude lip. Here are my favorite pencils:
MAC Stripdown is probably the most "nude" of the three, and it's great for many skin tones. I actually use it anytime I want to create a foundation for lipstick, not just with nudes, because it will neutralize my naturally pink lips and allow the color of the lipstick to show more vibrantly. I use MAC Cork when I need to darken a color, and MAC Boldly Bare is good to add warmth because of the pink undertone.
