Best Of: NARS Cosmetics

NARS is one of my all time favorite brands.  I love the great selection of foundation shades and the pigmented lipsticks and blushes.  Here are my picks for the all of the best NARS Cosmetics items.

base products

• NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is one of the very best tinted moisturizers that I've ever tried.  If you've been reading this blog for a while, then you know that I absolutely love Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer, but NARS' formula feels much lighter on the skin and comes in a much wider range of colors.  If you're looking for something with light coverage that will look like your skin, but much better, this is definitely something you should try.
• NARS Radiant Cream Compact is something that I've just recently discovered, and it is a lovely foundation.  When applied with a damp beauty blender, you get the most flawless satin finish.  I love that this can be applied for light coverage, or layered for nearly full coverage.  This is my favorite foundation for when I want a little more coverage.
• NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my favorite concealer.  It is very easy to blend, but once it's blended it totally stays put.  It's creamy consistency works under eyes or on blemishes, and the range of shades is phenomenal.

blushes / powders

•  NARS Dual Intensity Blush is a gorgeous blush duo that has complementary shades in a very pigmented powder with a satin finish.  There are six permanent shades, and I have Fervor, which has a baby pink and a magenta blush.  This formula is very unique and the pairings are all beautiful.
• NARS Blush in Sertao is a beautiful sheer golden powder.  On my skin tone, this works as a luminous setting powder that creates a very pretty glow when applied lightly all over.  On lighter skin ones, this would be a very light peachy/golden shade.  Sertao is no longer available but the Satellite of Love Highlighting Powder is very similar.

eyeshadows

• NARS Eyeshadow Duos have yet to disappoint me.  There are so many classic shades, but Cordura is one of my favorites.  It has a dark chocolate brown with brown shimmer on one side, and a caramel colored shade with gold shimmer on the other side.  It's so versatile and super flattering.
• NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow made its debut last year, and this formula is fantastic.  It's very smooth and creamy even though it's a powder formula.  it can be applied wet or dry (wet application is a bit more intense).  I love the Narsissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette (review and swatches here) because it comes with 8 different shades, so it's super versatile.  My favorite shade is probably Himalia (shimmering topaz) but they are all beautiful.
• NARS Velvet Shadow Stick is new this year, and I really like this product.  It's currently available in six shades - Hollywoodland (pale gold), Goddess (pink champagne), Oaxaca (quartz), Aigle Noir (black infused with gold shimmer), Sukhothai (shimmering peacock) and Flibuste (black).  I have Aigle Noir and I think it'll make the perfect base for a smokey eye.  These are very long lasting, and are so easy to apply.  If you love a super quick makeup look, you'll definitely want to check these out.

lipsticks and lip glosses

• NARS Audacious lipsticks are definitely some of my absolute favorites.  I recently bought Charlotte (see swatches here), and it's definitely going to be something in heavy rotation.  The formula is extremely opaque and it applies so smoothly.  This is one of NARS' standout products.
• NARS Lip Gloss is a super shiny but not too sticky formula that is very comfortable on the lips.  These would be perfect if they were a bit more opaque, but I still really like them.  Fans of traditional semi-sheer glosses will love these.
