The 5 Best Podcasts to Jumpstart Your Day {Week In Review Vol. 28}
So I've been pretty much obsessed with podcasts for the last couple of months or so, and I've found the best podcasts for your morning commute. Whether you're looking for laughs, inspiration, or just want to know what's going on in the world, these podcasts are a great start to the day.
- BBC Global News Podcast. I love this because it's exactly 30 minutes long and is released twice a day, so it's great for either the morning or evening commute. You get a bit of news about what's going on in the world, and they always include a quirky story at the end.
- Criminal. This bi-weekly podcast delves deep into a crime-related story from a totally fresh angle. It's unlike any other true crime journalism and one of the best podcasts I've found. I was hooked once I heard the story about a major whodunnit involving the poising of an oak tree LOL. It was so interesting that I barely noticed the traffic and the annoyingly bad drivers that I deal with on the daily.
- The Read. This is not for the faint of heart. This podcast is a weekly download on black pop culture and it is vulgar, honest and HILARIOUS.
- TED Radio Hour. This podcasts takes the best TED Talks and revamps them for podcasts. You'll hear snippets of TED Talks about a particular issue, plus interviews with the speakers. One of my favorites is this one about Rethinking Death.
- Reality LA Audio Podcast. Reality is a modern church that aims to make church less formal and intimidating, and I absolutely love this podcast. The podcasts build off each other, but you can jump in any time. This one about Love Incorruptible from Ephesians 6: 21-24 is a great way to start the day.
