In Rotation: Facial Mists

During the winter months, I love using facial mists to refresh my skin and add much-needed moisture.  It may not get too cold in the Bay Area, but the indoor heating is super drying on my skin.  Here are four facial mists that are constantly in rotation.

Best facial mists | beautyluxelifeFirst Aid Beauty Vitamin Hydrating Mist

I have the travel size of this skin mist and love how refreshing it feels.  This mist is "packed with skin-energizing ingredients and enriched with a unique cocktail of vitamins to replenish and revive, moisture-rich humectants to soothe and hydrate, and the botanical-rich FAB antioxidant booster to combat environmental aggressors."  It also contains citrus oils, which makes it feel really fresh.  It has a mild citrus scent that dissipates pretty quickly.

I like to use this after I've finished my barre class.  I'll usually use a makeup wipe to clean my face then spray this all over.  It really makes my skin feel energized (which is super important given I usually take class at 6 am!).  I typically use this as a toner, but it also works to set makeup, or just to refresh the skin during the day.  It's perfect for when your skin needs a pick-me-up.

Glossier Soothing Face Mist

This is the newest addition to my facial mist collection and I really love the rose scent and soothing quality.   It feels so glamorous!  I like to spray it some evenings after washing my face to calm my skin and prep for serums or masks. If you've been reading this blog for a while, then you know I'm a longtime devotee of the Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray.  However, I will say that the Glossier spray smells much more rosy (which is a plus to me).  Either one will do the trick, though.

Pixi Glow Mist

I used this mist non-stop this past summer (you may remember it from this post), and love the glowy finish it gives.  This is definitely the mist you want if you're looking for added glow.  It has 13 oils added to it (you can see them in the bottle), so you know it's the real deal.  Despite the added glow, it never left my face feeling oily, and I do think it extended the wear of my makeup a bit.  This is a great product that I will re-purchase again.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

This made one of my top products of 2015 for a reason - it adds lasting moisture.  While all of the mists mentioned here are great (and just fun to use), this is the only one that really moisturized my skin.  I've been using this all winter to fight dryness.  I think this would be awesome to bring on the plane, too.  I could also see this being great as a very light moisturizer if you have oily skin.
