Valentine's Day Makeup Edit
Now I probably won't be doing anything special for Valentine's Day, but if I were, I would definitely go for a soft romantic makeup look. Here are the makeup products that I think would be perfect for a Valentine's Day date.
face
Whether glowy or matte, a light foundation is super important for a natural look. I've been using L'Oreal Lumi Cushion foundation (shade W8) almost every day for the last few weeks and love the lightweight and glowy finish it gives. However, I just recently tried the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint (in Malaga) and think it is one of the most natural finishes that I've ever gotten in a foundation or tinted moisturizer. I will have a more in-depth review in the next week or so.
I also think a nice glow is always super pretty and romantic. I really like the subtlety of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in So Hollywood. It's a yellow-toned gold that gives a soft glow that isn't too over the top.
For blush, a soft baby pink is a no-brainer, so I would wear one of my favorite blushes - Blushbaby by MAC Cosmetics. I only have like three blushes that I rotate and whenever I want a nice pink flush, I reach for this. It's a neutral pink and I think it would work on a range of colors because you can build it up for more color payoff.
eyes
Anastasia Beverly Hills has some really great eyeshadows. I love this Self Made palette because it has a range of colors and finishes. Pink Champagne is probably my favorite color because it's a metallic silver/pink. I will have swatches and a review of this palette soon!
I also had to feature Tom Ford Cream Eyeshadow in Pink Haze because it is so pretty and one of my favorite cream eyeshadow colors. It's sold out, but I linked other pink cream eyeshadows in the widget below.
Of course, full lashes are key to this look, so I would definitely wear Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. It's amazing. I have a more in-depth review of this and my other favorite mascaras in this post.
lips
I love lipgloss, but gloss is super stick and just not very kissable, so I would wear a light lipstick or a long-lasting liquid lipstick. For lipstick, I'm actually very into frosty/metallic lipsticks, so I'd recommend Plum Dandy from MAC Cosmetics. It's a super pretty pink that's metallic but in a very modern way (I promise!).
I love ColourPop Cosmetics and their liquid lipsticks are super long-lasting. Clueless is the most perfect baby pink and More Better is a very pretty berry shade. One is subtle and the other is bold but both are really pretty.
