What To Pack In Your Carry-On - Skincare
When I set out for an 11-day trip that would take me to New York City and Costa Rica, I had to be very strategic about my skincare and makeup. Here's what I packed for skincare:My strategy for packing all of my skincare was travel-size everything. A couple of weeks ago I bought a package of 50 small plastic containers and round paper labels. These were life-safers for packing skincare products that I don't use much of, like eye cream and extra moisturizers and/or serums.Here's a breakdown:Hair
{Phytospecific Baobab Oil (in travel container) // Photo Secret De Nuit Intense Hydration Regenerating Night Cream (in travel container) // Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream (free sample) // Oribe Shampoo for Beautiful Color (free sample)}
Skin Cleansers
{NARS Skin Multi-Action Hydrating Toner (in travel container) // Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser (travel size) // MAC Cleanse Off Oil (travel size)}
Skin Masks & Treatments
{Mario Badescu Flower & Tonic Mask (free sample) // Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask (free sample) // NARS Skin Double Refining Exfoliator (free sample)}
(Clinique Superdefense Age Defense Eye Cream SPF 20 (full size) // Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum (free sample) // Jouer Daily Repair Treatment Oil (in travel container) // Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector (in travel container) // Amore Pacific Time Response Eye Cream (free sample)}
Skincare Extras
{Supergoop! Setting Mist with Rosemary and SPF (travel size) // Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray (in travel container) // Jouer Anti-Blemish Matte Primer (in travel container) // Neutrogena Hydro-Boost Gel Moisturizer // Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer (full size) // Smith's Rosebud Salve (full size)}
Some of these products are old favorites, but some are samples that I haven't had the chance to try yet, so I'm interested to see how things work out. I had to balance the need to carry moisturizing and soothing products to address the dryness and irritation that always accompanies long plane rides with the need to bring products that would work for sunny, hot and humid weather. I really hope that all these products will keep my skin looking good, and I will come back with updates and mini-reviews when I return. Many of these products are free samples of expensive products, so I'll let you know if any are worth the splurge!
