new spring makeup launches

There's nothing like the smell of fresh makeup to get you going...or is it just me?  I love seeing new makeup releases and even though I totally think that you can wear any color at any time, I definitely switch to lighter colors in the spring.  Here are some new makeup releases that look really good.

  1. MAC Brows Are It Collection.  This collection basically has every thing you ever wanted or thought you wanted to fill in your brows.  There's brow gel (more shades added to what they currently have.  I've talked about MAC's brow gel in this post.), brow pomade, brow powder and 3 different types of brow pencils.  The range of colors could be better, but if you're looking for something for your brows but don't know what to get, start here.  Look for these at the end of this month (so any day now!).
  2. Burberry Eye Colour Contour Smoke & Sculpt Pen.  I've talked about how much I love eye shadow sticks before (check out this post for my favorites), so of course I was super excited to see that Burberry has come out with some of their own.  I always hear great things about Burberry but haven't tried anything (yet), these just might be my first purchase.  The eyeshadow sticks come in Natural, Almond, Pale Copper, Midnight Brown, Rosewood, Dusky Mauve and Stone Gray.  I bet these would be perfect for those mornings when you're in a rush.  They cost $29 and are available now at Sephora.
  3. Dolce & Gabbana Rosa Look Spring Collection. This is another brand that I haven't tried, but I'm a sucker for all things pink, and the packaging is just so beautiful.  This should be out any day now at Sephora.
  4. Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks.  Bite Beauty recently re-launched their lipsticks and they have 34 shades (some old and some new).  I love their formula (remember when I visited their store and got some custom colors?), so I definitely want to try these.  They cost $26 and are available now at Sephora.
  5. Bobbi Brown Malibu Nudes Collection.  Bobbi Brown recently released more shades of her Art Stick which is a cross between a lipstick and a lip liner with a creamy matte finish.  Sounds interesting and is available now for $26 at Bobbi Brown.  She also released four really pretty blush duos that are also available now for $42.
  6. YSL Savage Escape Summer Collection.  YSL will always be special to me because it was one of the first high-end makeup brands that I tried (after NARS).  I always liked that there's so much shimmer in everything and their foundations come in a wide range of colors.  These lip glosses, creamy eye shadows and metallic nail polishes look so pretty!  This collection releases in April, so we still have time to save our coins.

exciting news

Yesterday I was announced as an intern for Makeup and Beauty Blog, which is one of the first beauty blogs that I started reading years ago.  Karen, the site's creator, is having a baby any day now so she has 6 bloggers that will be posting on her site.  I got a huge box of products to review for her site, so be sure to check out what I'll be doing over there.  This was just super exciting for me because I always liked Karen's blog and now I'm going to be featured!

I'll still be keeping busy here, but I'll be talking about lots of new brands over at MBB.  I'll post the links to my posts on my Facebook page and Twitter, so follow me there to stay up to date!
