Do You Change Your Makeup For Summer? | Week In Makeup
I seriously can't believe that summer officially starts on Monday! I mean, we don't really experience four distinct seasons in the Bay, but it's still crazy that it's summer already! So, despite experiencing summer-like weather year round (we starting hitting 90 at my job months ago), I've still started getting ready for summer in little ways. One way is slowly changing up my makeup for summer. I'll be featuring some posts coming up soon on sunscreen and lightweight makeup, but in the meantime, check out the posts below:
- Lighter Foundations (an overview of several light foundations that I tested)
- NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint (a review of my top pick for lighter foundations...for now anyways :-))
- Bold and bright makeup look (a tutorial on how to wear bright makeup but still look pretty "natural")
- Bronzey makeup look (a tutorial on the best way to capitalize on that summer glow)
When I change my makeup for summer, I focus on a higher SPF, lighter moisturizer (not technically makeup, I know) and a matte foundation. I still love glowy makeup, but when the weather is hot, I kind of get that natural glow going (otherwise known as sweating).Besides switching up my makeup for summer, I've also done a few things around the house. For one, I've switched to some lighter bedding. But I'm most proud of the fact that I FINALLY started paying more attention to my outdoor plants! My mom will be so proud to hear that LOL. She gave me two huge planters filled with all kinds of succulents and I've basically been neglecting them because I was like "Well, cacti don't need water, right?" Apparently, they do need water, so they were in bad shape. I literally did not water them for months. BUT yesterday I put on my dishwashing gloves (because I damn sure don't have gardening ones) and cleaned out the pots and watered them too. I also cleaned up my little balcony and put out two chairs. I just need to get a little bistro table and I'm ready for outdoor entertaining...sort of.What things do you do to get ready for summer, and most importantly,
