MAC Shadescents: Velvet Teddy & Creme D'Nude
So you might not think of MAC when you're shopping for your next fragrance, but let me tell you that the MAC Shadescents collection is pretty damn good. Well, the two scents that I picked up - Velvet Teddy and Creme D'Nude - are so beautiful.I'm gonna give you guys a little background on the MAC Shadescents collection. MAC released fragrances to match some of their most popular lipsticks - Ruby Woo, Candy Yum Yum, Lady Danger, Heroine, Creme D'Nude and Velvet Teddy.Of the six new scents, Creme D'Nude and Velvet Teddy were the only ones that spoke to me. Creme D'Nude is an amber musk and it's meant to smell like skin…but way better. It has a soft musky scent that has a subtle sexiness that's so nice for everyday. It's one of those scents that lasts all day, but you need to be close to smell it.It's also not overly sweet, or too masculine, so it's a no-brainer type of scent. That being said, Velvet Teddy is sooo good. It's definitely my favorite and I wore this one almost daily after getting it in December. It's described as having a wild honey scent, but don't think it's a super sweet scent. It's definitely not, and I still pick up a bit of musk, but in a very subtle way. This scent is unlike many others that I've tried, and it's definitely more sophisticated than what you'd expect from MAC. No shade to MAC, but it's not exactly the first place I'd go if I were looking for my next perfume. Just sayin'.And for the lipsticks, I decided to pick up Velvet Teddy because I'd been hearing for years how it was such a pretty nude. And it is. It's the perfect creamy, pinky/brown nude that will probably look good on so many different skin tones.I have to admit, this MAC Shadescents collection (at least these two scents) is so impressive. It is so beyond what I'd expect from a $57 dollar perfume that I had to tell you guys about it. MAC really stepped up its game with this one. All of the scents are in stores now, and it's a permanent collection, so I definitely suggest you check this out when you get a chance. Here's a couple of quick pics I snapped of me wearing Velvet Teddy:I really think it's such a pretty pinky nude that's perfect for every day. Here's the details for the rest of my makeup:Base:
