MAC Burgundy Times Nine {Product Review} #PerfectPalettes
A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed the MAC Amber Times Nine eyeshadow palette, which is a perfect neutral eyeshadow palette, that's also perfect for travel. I thought it was only fair that I also review its bold cousin, the MAC Burgundy Times Nine eyeshadow palette.
First, I like the mix of textures that are in this palette, which includes matte, shimmer and satin shadows in a range of warm and cool tones. At first look, it seems like this palette would only work for more dramatic makeup looks, but it's actually more versatile than it may seem. Some of the more shimmery shades, like Honeylust, Antiqued and Star Violet actually look really pretty likely buffed all over the lid.

If you want to do a bit more, Quarry, Embark and Haux make great crease shades depending on your skin tone and how bold you want your makeup to look.
makeup look
Here's a look that I wore to work and then out to dinner for my mom's birthday:
I used Star Violet all over the lid and then used Haux and Quarry to blend it out into the crease. On my lips, I used MAC's Midsummer Night, which is the perfect peachy-nude shade for me.
As you can see, this look is actually totally daytime appropriate, so don't let the bold colors scare you away!
final thoughts
Overall, I like this palette and even though the shadows are small, I think it's a really great way to experiment with unusual shades. I personally love pink and red eyeshadows (check out this tutorial for another makeup look using red eyeshadow), so it's great to have different shades all in one place. I will say that #Noir is not as smooth as I'd like, but the quality of the shades are the same as what you'd see in MAC's single eyeshadows. I'm happy with my purchase and recommend this if you'd like to try a range of finishes and burgundy-toned shades.
