In Rotation: Bases
I have a few foundation / tinted moisturizers that I use regularly, so I thought I'd share what's been in rotation lately.
1. Lancome Miracle Cushion Foundation in 450 Suede N. I bought this earlier this summer because I wanted a more travel-friendly foundation. The color is a great match for my skin and I love that the foundation is very lightweight, but it can be layered for more coverage. I did find that my nose got pretty shiny with this, so if you have oily skin, I'd definitely recommend a mattifying primer and/or setting it with powder (I don't always set my base with powder). But if you have normal or just slightly dry skin, this would be perfect for you. The finish is just slightly glowy and very pretty.
2. Diorskin Nude BB Creme in 04 + Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer. This has been my most used base lately (featured here on YouTube) and I love that it covers imperfections and gives my skin a very healthy and youthful look. This is a light/medium finish and lasts all day without settling into my pores or getting too shiny. I really wish the Diorskin came in more colors because the formula is really great.
3. Sephora Teint Infusion Ethereal Natural Finish Foundation in 35. I have a more in-depth review here (and use it in this tutorial on an Easy Red Lip Look), but this is another very pretty satin finish foundation. This provides a similar finish to the Lancome compact, but it lasts much longer. The packaging is a tad messy (but not nearly as bad as the CoverFX), but I love the light finish and there's a pretty decent color selection too.
4. Josie Maran Argan Oil Light + CoverFX Custom Cover Drops in N80 + Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. So I've been playing around with the CoverFX Custom Cover Drops for a while now trying to find the perfect combination. The color is great, but I've found that when I mix them with a primer or sunscreen, the finish can feel too dry and look too matte. That's why I decided to try mixing in a drop of the argan oil. The light version of this oil added just the right amount of moisture to give my skin a nice glow. This combination is the most full coverage of this bunch because I can add more of the CoverFX to increase the pigmentation. This is definitely not a quick endeavor but the makeup nerd in me likes mixing my own foundation.
