Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions | #PerfectPalettes
You guys, I have SO many eyeshadow palettes! Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to be reviewing and swatching some good ones. And today I have the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette. I've actually never tried a single Huda Beauty product, but got sucked in when Sephora had these palettes in the aisle of doom right in front of the checkout counter.[one_half padding="10px 10px 10px 10px"][/one_half][one_half_last padding="10px 10px 10px 10px"][/one_half_last]Now, this palette is damn good. I can't say how it compares to the other Huda Beauty palettes, but I was blown away by the quality. The mattes are extremely pigmented and the shimmers (especially the gold one) are intense. The colors in the Smokey Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette are perfect too.Above I have swatches of the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette. There are no names, but as you can see, this palette has the right shades for a classic smokey eye. You can go neutral, warm or cool. You could pair the silver sparkly shade and a cool toned brown. Or, you could match the stunning gold shadow and a warmer matte caramel eyeshadow. And of course there's the pretty metallic chocolate brown for a more neutral look. The matte black can deepen any look, and the icy champagne color can add light.I thought a dark smokey look would be the obvious choice, so I tried a really light everyday look with the Smokey Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette to see how versatile it really is. Let's be honest - I'm not going to rock a dark smokey eyeshadow look that often, so I needed to see if I could use this on a regular basis.I was really happy with how this look turned out. The shades are so easy to blend and there isn't any fallout. Ok so I didn't play with the matte black to see how well that works (and we know super dark shades can be patchy) but everything that I tried performed quite nicely. For this look, I dusted the shimmery champagne shade all over my eyes, and then used the dusty brown and caramel eyeshadows in my crease and along my lower lash line. Here are the details for the rest of my makeup look:
- The Ordinary Serum Foundation 3.0r mixed with 3.1y (see my review and swatches in this post)
- Colourpop No Filter Concealer in Tan 50 (see swatches and review in this post)
