Friday Face: Chanel Tisse Venitien
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I'd been lusting over Chanel's Tisse Venitien eyeshadow quad from the re-vamped Les 4 Ombres line. Well, I finally bit the bullet and am so glad that I did. So, here's a look that I did featuring the silver shade, which I paired with bubblegum pink glossy lips.Face: I've been looking for a matte liquid foundation, and was testing Dolce & Gabbana The Foundation Perfect Matte in Soft Tan 160. It's a nice formula but it didn't have enough slip when applied so it required a little more effort to blend than I'd like. I used my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (also mentioned here), which is quickly becoming a daily staple. This is a product that you truly have to try on your face to fully appreciate. Once you do, you'll be hooked. Promise. I also used MAC Sweet as Cocoa blush, which I've been wearing almost daily lately. It doesn't really come across in the photo but it is a perfect neutral shade for me, and I also used it in my crease to blend out the silver shade.Eyes: Since I was wearing this look during the day, I used just the silver shade patted onto my eyelid and the peachy shade on the top right of the palette lightly along my brow bone. I added MAC Extreme Dimension mascara and used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown to pencil in my brows, and I was done.Lips: To lighten the mood of this look and make it daytime appropriate, I lined my lips with MAC Hip 'N' Happy lip pencil, which is a cool bubblegum pink. I then topped with Kevyn Aucoin The Lipgloss in Peonine, which is a semi-sheer rose gloss with pink sparkles. So pretty and not too sticky. Here are some swatches. The two greenish colors can either look very similar or very different depending on the light. The green on the far left is a metallic forest green, and the shade second from the right is a darker green with brown/gray undertones. It reminds me of MAC Club and it can look brown, dark gray or green depending on how the light hits it. I was very happy with the quality of these shadows as they were very pigmented and silky smooth. Bottom line: I recommend this eyeshadow quad. There are several other color combinations, which can be found here for $61.
