Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick + Perfectionist Serum & Concealer | Review
I used the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick as well as the Perfectionist Serum & Concealer a while ago in my Peach Makeup Look Tutorial (you can check it out here!), but wanted to circle back and do a full review. It's now been a couple of months and I think that I like both products more now than I did at the beginning. I typically pass right by Estee Lauder when I'm makeup shopping, but these are both really good.
my thoughts on the estee lauder double wear nude cushion stick
When I first used the Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick (shade 5N1), I really liked the finish of the foundation, but I was not super impressed with the cushion. It felt hard and didn't blend nearly as well as my Beauty Blender. But it was so convenient! At least a couple of times a week, I end up slapping makeup on my face either on the shuttle ride to work, or in the bathroom once I get to the office. So having a foundation that looked good without any setting powder, lasted all day and could be applied without dirtying my hands was clutch. So I kept at it, and, little by little, the cushion tip softened up a bit and became better at blending in my makeup. Now, if I'm sitting at home, I'll probably still reach for a makeup sponge or foundation brush. But, on the go, this is really quite nice. Seriously, it's now permanently in my go-bag. You know how some people keep a go-bag for emergencies with batteries and flashlights and bottled water? Well, I keep one with makeup, and this is always in it.Another thing that's great about the Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick is that the cushion is removable! So you can actually wash it as you would any makeup sponge.I think the coverage is light to medium, depending on how much you apply. I usually just twist up about a dime sized amount and dot it all over my face before blending. It has a very natural satin finish. Some people describe it as "dewy" but I'd say the Armani Maestro Glow is much more dewy and the Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick has a finish more similar to my beloved Sephora Teint Infusion.
my thoughts on the estee lauder perfectionist serum & concealer
Now onto the Perfectionist Serum & Concealer (shade 4N). This is another really nice product. The serum is a nice peach color that is great for brightening the under eyes and cancelling darkness. It's also lightly hydrating. I also love that the concealer is very creamy and blendable, but it's not overly wet. It's not too slippery and not too dry either. If you have oily skin, this probably isn't the concealer for you because it is quite creamy. But if you find that many concealers dry your under eye area, then this could be perfect. I think this is a concealer that works better when set with some concealer though because it can crease. You know I have to ask, have any of you tried anything else from Estee Lauder? Let me know if there are some hidden gems!
