It's been a while since my last Empties post, so I decided to round up some hair care products that I've used lately.  I don't feature hair care too much because I'm not super happy with my hair care routine to be totally honest.  My hair is growing and it doesn't feel too try or damaged, but I think I'll just be much happier when I have a few more inches of length.  Short hair is so hard!  Anyways, here are my thoughts of the products that I've used up and may (or may not) be repurchasing in the future!

Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls

I consider Miss Jessie’s the OG of natural hair care.  When I first went natural in college over 10 years ago (OMGGG), this was one of the few brands that catered to natural hair.  Now there are dozens.  Even though I’ve tried lots of different brands and have largely moved on to other products, I’m always willing to try something from MJ just because I feel like we’ve got history.  So, I was at Target a while ago and they were having a BOGO 50% off of Miss Jessie’s products, so I decided to give the Jelly Soft Curls a try.  I really like that this product defines my curls and is not stiff or crunchy at all.  So, the gel actually lives up to its name.  But, I don’t love the waxy feel of this gel.  This waxy texture is amplified in day 2 hair.  Despite the softness of this gel and the fact that it defines my hair, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing.

Shea Moisture Strengthen Grow & Restore Treatment Mask

This mask featuring Jamaican black castor oil is great.  It softens my hair and  also helps to reduce breakage.  Plus I love that it’s readily available at any drugstore, and is almost always on sale!  I mean…need I say more?

Shea Moisture Extra-Moisturising Detangler

This leave-in conditioner is a super-rich and thick detangler.   I like that it really coats my hair, but it is pretty hard to completely work into my hair because it’s just so darn thick.  For my wash-and-go routines, I like a leave-in conditioner with more slip because it’s easier to detangle and then pile on my styling products.  This is very moisturizing, but I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing anytime soon.

Giovionni Direct Leave-In Conditioner

Now, this is what I’m talking about!  I love the liquid-y consistency of this leave-in conditioner (a little thinner than your average lotion), so it’s really easy to comb through my hair.  I keep a bottle of this conditioner in my shower so that I can put it onto my soaking wet hair right after washing.  This is very moisturizing but not too heavy.  I LOVE this and have already repurchased.

Phyto Overnight Treatment Serum

I used to use this Photo Secret de Nuit Hydrating Regenerating Night Treatment almost nightly when I wore my hair straight on a regular basis. It’s moisturizing but doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or weighed down.  For now, I won’t repurchase, but I definitely recommend this if your hair needs some extra TLC.[row padding_top="" padding_bottom="" bg="" bg_light="true" appear="false"] [column size="1-2" appear="false"]empties[/column] [column size="1-2" appear="false"]empties[/column] [/row]

Qtica Half Time Polish Drying Accelerator

These are the best quick drying drops that I’ve tried!  I love that they speed up drying time (in a major way) but they don’t compromise the shine.  I’ve tried other drops that will leave a little residue, but I don’t have that problem with these drops.  They’re not cheap, but they totally work.  Drying is always the step in an at-home manicure that I can never seem to get right.  There have been TONS of times when I’ve thought my polish was dry only to smudge it trying to snack on some popcorn.  So annoying!  That’s why I think these drops are definitely worth checking out.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

I like buying the gift sets at L’Occitane because this Shea Butter Hand Cream is so bomb.  It smells a little like almonds, but it’s not overpowering at all.  Plus it’s super moisturizing, which is something that I NEED in a hand cream.  I switch between this and the little Nivea hand cream tins.  The Nivea cream is way cheaper, but this L’Occitane hand cream soaks in quicker and doesn’t leave my hands feeling all greasy.  LOVE it.Shop all of the hair, skin and body products mentioned here, plus other items that I'm using at the moment:[xyz-ihs snippet="may-empties-16"]
