Easy Eyes Featuring MAC Electric Cool Eye Shadow
MAC was my first "grown up" makeup purchase when I started wearing makeup in ninth grade, and I've been a loyal customer ever since. I've since tried out many different brands, but whenever I need an interesting color or some great advice, I always return to MAC. That being said, I sometimes get tired of the same old products being re-promoted time and time again. So, I was fully prepared to swatch a few eyeshadows and keep it moving when I was in Nordstrom a couple of weeks ago. However, as soon as I touched these Electric Cool Eye Shadows, I knew that MAC had come up with something special.
The Electric Cool Eye Shadows are cream eyeshadows that are extremely pigmented and super blendable. I purchased Superwatt, a metallic taupe, and Coil, a rich bronze, because I thought they would be the most versatile. I applied them using my fingers and was really impressed with the finish and the lasting power. I did not use an eyeshadow base and had some minor creasing, so I would recommend using an eyeshadow base (NARS makes a great one) or a MAC paint pot in a neutral color.
When I purchased these colors, the sales associated suggested that I use Superwatt as a highlight along my cheekbones. Of course, I loved the suggestion, so here's a little look that I tried featuring MAC Electric Cool Eye Shadows in Superwatt and Coil.

It comes in a range of colors from neutrals to some bolder shades (cobalt blue, purple and black), which would be great for a smokey eye.
