Dior 5 Couleurs Kingdom of Colors - Spring 2015

I don't always buy Dior, but when I do, it's a beautiful eyeshadow palette.  This spring, Dior released two eyeshadow palettes in its "Kingdom of Colors" collection - House of Greens and House of Pinks.  I'm usually not too keen on green, but this palette has some lovely and wearable shades that I thought would be a great addition to my collection.  Plus, I've heard great things about the five color palettes and figured that since I'm on a palette-buying binge, I might as well indulge.diorkingdomofcolors1diorkingdomofcolors2The palette is housed in a luxurious navy blue case and comes with two little brushes inside.  I would probably never use these brushes, but they'd be nice to have if you wanted to bring the palette with you for touch-ups.diorswatchesI found the shadows to be very finely milled and smooth, though it seemed like the first swatch was harder to apply.  After the first layer of product came off, the shadows were definitely more smooth.  All of the shadows are sparkly and the colors are light pink with silver sparkles, pewter/silver with silver sparkles, dark forest green (this looks black in the picture but in person it is a very deep green with a metallic finish), emerald green with gold sparkles and light olive green with gold sparkles.  I like that there are both warm and cool shades.  I  could wear either of the lighter greens as a wash of color during the day and deepen with the darkest green for evening.  The silver is very pretty and did not come off as ashy, which is always a possibility with silvers.  The pink didn't deposit much color, but would also be pretty to add some sparkle.  On lighter skin tones, it could be a nice eyeshadow or even a highlighter for the cheekbones.  Overall I'm happy with this palette and am looking forward to trying some new looks with it.diorkingdomofcolors3
