Currently Craving: Vol. 9
It's been forever since I've done one of these posts, so here's a round-up of the latest and greatest beauty finds. NARS recently released it's fall collection, and Kat Von D expanded her liquid lipstick colors. There are also some not-so-new offerings from Josie Maran and Charlotte Tilbury that look really promising as well.
1. Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist. I've been a fan of Josie Maran products for quite some time, mainly because they are often infused with great natural ingredients like argan oil. I was browsing on Sephora.com a few days ago and stumbled across this hydrating mist. I've been super loyal to my Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray, but was intrigued by the idea of a more super-charged version. According to Sephora.com:
This alcohol-free formula contains argan oil extract to nourish and coconut water to deliver essential hydration and electrolytes. Protein-rich minerals provide antioxidant protection against free radicals, konjac root ultra-filling spheres plump and smooth skin, and a powerful multi-fruit complex of sugar cane, lemon, and orange extract helps remove dead skin cells, support natural collagen production, and boost skin elasticity. Natural essences of cucumber and geranium revitalize the senses and skin is left saturated, supple, baby soft, and perfectly prepped for moisturizer.
This is meant to be applied after cleansing and sounds like it does a great job of moisturizing and maybe even exfoliating too. I'm really intrigued by this product and may check it out once the weather cools down a bit.
2. Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadow in Cleopatra. I've heard rave reviews about Charlotte Tilbury's cream eyeshadow formula, and I finally got the chance to check it out in person in LA a couple of weeks ago. This color is so vibrant and the formula is the perfect balance between creamy and firm. Some cream eyeshadows are too liquid-like and never quite dry down. Others are too dry and don't blend easily, but these are just right and absolutely gorgeous.
3. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. Matte liquid lipstick has been popular for a while now, and it seems like every other week a brand is launching some variation of the trend. I bought one of Kat Von D's liquid lipsticks in Lolita a few months ago and really liked the formula. It applies smoothly to the lips and dries down comfortably. It's also very long-lasting, so I was super excited when I learned that she was expanding the line and adding over a dozen new colors. There are a few lovely red and berry shades that seem so wearable and versatile. I have my eye on Bauhau5, Berlin and Damned.
4. NARS Velvet Shadow Stick. Part of the new NARS collection includes several new shades of their velvet shadow stick. I love eyeshadow sticks because they're super quick and easy. I've heard mixed reviews about the NARS offering, but this is one of my all-time favorite brands, so I'm going to check them out in person soon.
5. NARS Lipstick in VIP Red. I love NARS and since I don't have many red lipsticks, this new color, described as a "deep brick" sounds gorgeous and perfect for fall. Yes, I said fall even though we just got to August!
6. NARS Dual Intensity Shadows in Telesto and Pasiphae. I've been a huge fan of this formula since it debuted about a year ago. It's smooth and pigmented and the colors are so unique. I was really excited when I heard about the release of Telesto (brown with golden shimmer) and Pasiphae (shimmering peacock burgundy). I mean "shimmering peacock burgundy", just sounds amazing. I'm super excited to check these out in person and it looks like they'd be great for everyday or evening looks.
