ColourPop Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette | Swatches + Review
I don't think I've ever posted twice in one day, but I wanted to give you guys swatches of the ColourPop Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette asap. It was released earlier this summer and is restocking for the 3rd or maybe 4th time at 10am TODAY.
The Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette has 12 warm toned shades in a mix of matte and metallic finishes. Lots of people have compared it to the Natasha Denona Sunset Palette, but I don't have that one to make a comparison. I LOVE the shades (y'all know I'm all about the warm golds and pinks and yellows), and the quality isn't bad. Actually, the quality is pretty damn good! A couple of the lighter matte shades felt a bit powdery and dry, but the metallics are awesome.Here are swatches of the Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette:
The shades (L to R):
- Full-Zip: matte warm ivory
- Big Cocktails: matte orange
- Champs: matte pale peachy nude
- Bling: metallic rust
- Louie: metallic duochrome red with a gold flip
- Butter Cake: metallic pale yellow gold
- Spoiled: matte brick red
- GNO: matte burnt orange
- Mischief: matte warm yellow
- Note to Self: matte warm caramel
- Chauffeur: metallic duochrome bright orange with a gold flip
- French Kiss: matte deep red brown
The dark brown in the corner (French Kiss) is super rich and pigmented. I also love that there's a great transition shade (bottom row, second from left - Note to Self). Chauffeur is gorgeous and not a shade I see often.My one gripe is the packaging. I mean ColourPop is very affordable, and they gotta get those prices down one way or another. But damn, sometimes the packaging feels so...cheap. The Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette comes in a white cardboard packaging, and there's a yellow paper sleeve that you slide off. Honestly, I threw away the yellow sleeve once I bought it because I just couldn't be bothered with it. I don't hate the packaging, but it's not the most sturdy and the white packaging shows every tiny little mark or smudge.Here are pictures of the packaging:
Notwithstanding the packaging, I like this palette and the colors are exactly what I'm always drawn to. Because there's a mix of matte and metallic shades, I think the Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette can work for everyday. There are enough tones and textures that you don't need to reach for other shadows, which is the whole point of having a palette rather than single eyeshadows.
