4 Amazing Face Sunscreens (Finally!)
You all may remember me complaining about the difficulty of finding face sunscreens for dark skin a little while back (in this post). Well you guys came through with some really good recommendations! So today, I'm reviewing two reader recommendations + Glossier's new Invisible Shield sunscreen + one of my OG face sunscreens from Neutrogena.
Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF 50
I was drawn to this face sunscreen for two reasons: 1) It's around $10 on Amazon and 2) a reader said it leaves a transparent, matte finish. This quickly became my go-to face sunscreen when I know I'm going to be out in the sun all day. Normally, I wouldn't go for a matte finish, but if I know I'll be hot and sweaty, I'm definitely reaching for a matte sunscreen. I really like that this leaves a sheer base. It works alone, or under makeup, which is a huge plus. Best thing is that it's so damn affordable. You can buy it at Amazon for $11.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face and Body Stick SPF 70
This Neutrogena sunscreen stick is my HG vacation sunscreen. I always bring this with me when I'm going to be out in the sun. I'll slather this all over my face and will also use this to layer on sunscreen on my shoulders and chest. It's totally sheer and lasts well, but I only use this on beach days. It's a little too heavy to wear on a daily basis and I wouldn't even think about trying to put makeup on over it. But for outdoor sports or being out in the sun, this is something I like to keep on hand to re-apply sunscreen throughout the day. You can buy it at Amazon for $9.
Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF 45
This is another face sunscreen that a reader recommended and it's awesome. It's lightweight and very fluid. The best part is that it totally disappears into the skin. I haven't experienced any irritation with this one. I will probably use this less during the summer because it leaves the skin a little glowy, but otherwise, I have no complaints. You can get this at Amazon for $12.
Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35
You guys know I couldn't do a post on face sunscreen without talking about Glossier :-) This is my current everyday sunscreen. It has a light gel/cream texture and it sits really nicely on the face. I haven't experienced any issues wearing makeup over this, and it's totally invisible on the skin. It doesn't leave my face totally matte, but it's definitely not glowy either. I guess I'd call it a satin finish, which I really like. You can get this at Glossier for $35.I'm so happy that I finally found some good face sunscreens! I've always worn sunscreen religiously (trying to stay forever young), but now it's actually a pleasant part of my morning skincare routine. But, of course, I'm always curious to hear what you guys have been using! Let me know in the comments.
