Latest Dior Beauty Staples

I've always enjoyed Dior beauty products, but hadn't bought anything from the brand in probably a year or so.  But when Jaclyn Hill mentioned the Diorskin Nude Air Healthy Glow Serum Foundation in her 2015 favorites, I had to check it out.  She said it was light and glowy, so I was pretty much sold.

When I visited the Dior counter a couple of weeks ago, I also decided to try their brow gel and the Skinflash (yet another take on the YSL Touche Eclat skin brightener).

As promised in my post about new spring foundations, here's more info on the Diorskin Nude Air Healthy Glow Serum Foundation SPF 20.  I initially bought shade 050, which is what is photographed here, but after wearing it a couple of times (you can see it in this post at Makeup And Beauty Blog), I thought it was too orange.  I got matched at a department store in the evening, so I didn't get a chance to test this in the daylight before buying it.  To be honest, I'm probably a bit between the two shades, but I'm happy with shade 040.

[highlighted_p boxed="false" center="false"]Dior shades can be inconsistent between different formulas.  Even though I have shade 040 in several different formulas, each shade looks different. I'd definitely recommend testing in person and really blending in the foundation on your hand before you decide on which shade to buy.  I found the foundation to look different on the face after it's gotten a chance to "set" for a bit.[/highlighted_p]

After all the guesswork with the foundation shade, I really liked how this looked.  The finish of this foundation is light/medium coverage with a satin finish.  It has a very similar finish to the Sephora Ethereal foundation (review and swatches here), but it feels lighter on the face.  Plus, with the super thin texture, a little goes a long way, so you definitely get your money's worth.  This foundation is $53 and is available at Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora.

I've been on a constant hunt for something to lighten under my eyes that doesn't crease and doesn't make my undereye area look crepe-y and dry.  So, when I saw the Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen, I was definitely curious.  As you can see from the swatch below, shade 45 is a peach shade.  On the swatch it stands out against my skin, but blended under my eyes it has a really nice brightening effect.  It's not really a concealer, but the peach color definitely helps to counteract dark circles and brighten the under-eye area (you know, a little color correcting!).  It's $38 and is available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora.

I've been pretty loyal to my MAC Brow Gel (it's the only colored brow gel that I've used), but was really intrigued by this one by Dior.  The applicator is really unique because you twist the bottom of the pen and a little gel comes out.  I like this because you can really control how much product you apply to your brows.  The product itself is cool too.  While MAC brow gel feels a lot like mascara (its thick and kind of dry).  This Dior gel is much more liquid-y.  The gel itself is not super pigmented, so I can run it through my brows without having to worry about them looking too dark and dramatic.  It's good for when I want to keep my brows in place and darken them a little without too much definition - basically Solange brows.  I really like this product and love having a new brow product to achieve a different look.  I used the brow styler gel in my Soft & Romantic Date Night Makeup Tutorial so you can see how it works there.  It's $29 and is available at Macy'sNordstrom and  Neiman Marcus.

Have you tried any of these Dior products?  Let me know in the comments!
