How To Wear Cream Blush | Makeup Tips

I'm always looking for a good cream blush, and had been wanting to try out the makeup offerings from Burberry, so it made sense my first purchase from the brand was the beautiful Lip & Cheek Bloom in Purple Tulip.  I actually bought this over a month ago, but hadn't used it because I wanted to photograph it first! #bloggerproblems.

The formula is incredibly light and the texture is very gel-like.  I really like how buildable the color is, so it could be just a sheer wash, or something much more bold.  Another thing that's great about this product is that it's blendable but long-lasting because it is similar to a stain.  Some cream blush products are too slippery, so they do not ever completely set.  Others are too dry, so they do not blend well.  Luckily this product is right in the middle and it's pretty awesome.  Plus, it's actually comfortable on the lips.

I thought it'd be fun to feature a couple of other products that would complement the Burberry Lip & Cheek Bloom.  Since Purple Tulip is a lovely fuchsia/purple color, I thought it would look with a gold/bronze eye and a shimmery highlighter.  For me, a cream blush is all about looking natural and easy, so I like to sweep one shade across my lids and throw on some lipstick or gloss, and that's it.

One of my favorite gold shadows is the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre cream eyeshadow in Mirage.  It's a beautiful cool-toned khaki/gold color that's very easy to wear and just gorgeous on.  Another super pretty option but in powder form is the NARS eyeshadow duo in Isolde (Cheyenne is pictured, but it's no longer available.  Isolde is very similar).  One side is a rich yellow gold and the other is a really pretty copper color.  I've been loving reddish tones on the eyes because they look really pretty with brown eyes.  Last, the creamy gold/peach highlighter by Colourpop Cosmetics in Butterfly Beach would add just the right amount of subtle glow.
