Last week was a big week in makeup. There was hella drama surrounding the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette. Plus, one of my favorite (ok, my absolute favorite) budget makeup brands – ColourPop – released $6 concealers. So, I decided to film a get ready with me video featuring the new ColourPop concealer, an older ABH palette and some new NARS products.
I’ll probably have a more detailed post about the new ColourPop concealer, but right now I can say that I like it. I like it a lot actually. I ended up needing a lighter color than I anticipated, but I’m pretty happy with the color range. The formula is matte and blends into the skin so quickly and easily (you’ll see in the video).
The other new products that I tried – a new NARS blush and lipstick – were so pretty too. I used to love NARS, but then I kinda stopped buying it because other brands were keeping my interest. I can be easily distracted. But I’m hardly ever disappointed with NARS because the colors are so unique. I think it’s because the founder is a legit, editorial makeup artist, so you just don’t see basic a$s colors and formulas.
The new lipstick, Linda, is such a pretty terra-cotta color. I feel like I’ve wasted my money on more than a couple of lipsticks trying to get this color. It’s super wearable but not something you’ll see everyday. Plus, the “Audacious” formula is probably the best I’ve ever tried. Yeah, it’s hella expensive, but this is one of those cases where the price is worth it. This is the most pigmented and smooth lipstick I’ve ever tried.
