I’ve always looked to Burt’s Bees for all natural skincare and body care products, so when I was asked to review their lipsticks, I was both excited and intrigued.
These Burt’s Bees lipsticks are 100% natural and include lip-softening ingredients like Moringa Oil and Red Raspberry Seed Oil. When I stopped into Target to check them out, I was happy to see that they came in a range of shades, so I decided to try one berry shade – Russet River – and one pink shade – Lily Lake.

Both shades are very creamy and have a semi-glossy finish. They were very comfortable on the lips and easy to apply. I was surprised at how sheer they were, but both were easily layered to achieve a more opaque finish. The swatches show the shade after 2 layers of lipstick. Both colors were nice, but I preferred Lily Lake, which was the perfect warm toned pink. Russet River appears more berry/purple toned in the swatch, but on my lips it pulls red. For the rest of my makeup, I’m wearing L’oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in W8, MAC Cosmetics Blush in Blushbaby, Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Eyeshadow Palette (shades Blossom and Hot & Cold) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in So Hollywood. Brows are Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown and mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex.
I was very pleased with the quality of these lipsticks. Often drugstore lipsticks are dry, but these felt super moisturizing on my lips. I liked the shade range too. There were nice nudes and reds as well. Plus, each lipstick is only $8.99 each! Available at Target.
