Let It Go

quotes-let-go-daphne-rose-kingma-600x411{image via oprah.com}I'm doing things a little backwards here, but I'm finally getting around to my personal New Year's Resolutions.  Instead of identifying something specific, I'm focusing more on a theme - LET IT GO.  As I look back on the most challenging periods in my life, I now recognize that my inability, and sometimes unwillingness, to let things go has caused me so much pain and sadness.  By letting go of past hurts, expectations and beliefs, I hope to open myself up to abundance in all forms.  I want to make room in my life for the next big thing, and all the things after.  This is definitely an internal journey that I will have to continually walk, but I believe that this is the best path for me.Letting go also involves material things.  When I moved into my new place a few months ago, I was horrified at the amount of things that I had accumulated and what it all represented.  I'm slowly going to clean out my closet and get rid of all the stuff that just doesn't fit, both literally and figuratively.  The same thing holds true for makeup, hair products, magazines, catalogs, kitchen gadgets...I could go on and on.  I'm basically one pile of newspapers away from being a hoarder.  I hope that once I've sorted through and organized things in my condo, my life will be more simple less stressed as well.

My greatest prayer for 2015 is that I will have the courage to let go.  Here's to an amazing 2015!
