Kaike Marshmallow Clay Mask Review | Indie Beauty Review

I recently talked about my favorite things to mix into a clay mask, so I figured it was time to review a mask I've been using a lot lately.  The Kaike Marshmallow Clay Mask has been in my (almost) weekly rotation since about August, and I really love it.  It's a dry clay mask that you mix with whatever you choose.  Water is an obvious choice, but as we head into cooler months, I've been mixing it with a few drops of rosehip oil for extra moisture.marshmallow clay mask and scrubWhile most clay masks are geared for troubled skin (think oily or congested), the Marshmallow Clay Mask is meant for dry and sensitive skin.  This means it's not nearly as drying as many clay masks can be.Here are the ingredients: white kaolin clay, certified organic marshmallow root and vanilla bean.  I like that the ingredients are simple, but they are all really effective.

  • White kaolin clay - a mild clay providing gentle cleaning and exfoliation, while stimulating circulation and adding nutrients to the skin.
  • Marshmallow root - a plant with healing and hydrating properties, it improves your skin's ability to retain moisture, relieves irritation, and helps to repair the skin barrier.
  • Vanilla - high in antioxidants, this fruit is vital in fighting free radicals, and it's anti-inflammatory properties aid in smoothing wrinkles and healing damaged skin.

As you can see, the marshmallow root really is the key ingredient that keeps the marshmallow clay mask from being too drying because it's very hydrating.  Who knew?If you're not super into clay masks, you could use this as a scrub.  Just mix it with a little water to make a paste.  Scrub it onto your face for a few minutes and then rinse it right off.So, are you into clay masks?  Let me know in the comments if there's any that you like.

Don't forget that you can buy this Kaike Marshmallow Clay Mask at my store - CVTD BEAUTY.
