In My Makeup Bag: At Work

Best things to keep in your desk at work. These things will save your life!

I like to keep a makeup bag at work with basics that I can use in the event that a) I left the house with no makeup on and realize that just won't cut it or b) I want to freshen my makeup before heading out after work. Here's what's currently in my makeup drawer bag at work:

IMG_0016Face:

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact in Walnut. I don't use it very often, but it's actually great for travel and I like that it has light coverage that can be layered on for more coverage.  Bonus points for having SPF.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in NC 45.  I use this pretty frequently because my nose can get shiny by the end of the day.  People have mixed feelings about MAC foundations, but I'm happy this this product.

MAC Blush in Format.  Format is a pinky-brown with a frost finish.  On me, it's a pretty natural flush, but the shimmer really brightens my face.  If I'm going somewhere after work and didn't wear make up, I'll always sweep this on to wake up my face.

Mario Badesco Facial Spray.  I've mentioned this before and I really love it.  Sometimes my faces feels so dry after being in the office all day, but this spray really makes a difference.  It's also great just to refresh or set your makeup.

Lips:

Maybelline Baby Lips.  This lip balm is really moisturizing and this one smells like grape bubble gum and leaves a slight berry tint.

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Valparaiso.  I love NARS and this lipstick is no exception.  It's creamy in a way that many matte lipsticks just aren't.  Valparaiso is a rich berry shade that works at the office and beyond.  Classic red is also a great option (you know I love a red lip).

Maybelline Colorsensationel Lipstick in Tinted Taupe.  This line of lipsticks is really fantastic, and you can almost always find them for under $5.  The formula is creamy and moisturizing, and this color is a great pinky/nude/brown.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Milk Chocolate.  So the website describes this as a rich chocolate brown, but on me it comes across as a natural flush on the lips and cheeks (very "I woke up like this"), so it's great to put on at work.  I have this in Rose too and it's a really lovely formula.  Easy to blend and looks really natural.  Bonus points for being multi-tasking.

Eyes:

Sephora Long Lasting Eyeliner in Glitter Brown. Don't let the "glitter" scare you away.  This is actually a subtle shimmer and I find the brown adds something, but it's not as dramatic (or unforgiving) as black.

Misc:

Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes.  Full disclosure - these aren't the most effective nail wipes I've used, BUT I like that they don't have the strong acetone smell, which is great for using at the office (they're acetone free and all natural).  Plus the container is cute.

MAC 129se Brush.  I have the travel size brush from a brush set I bought a few years ago at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Sephora Professional Retractable Powder Brush.  I bought this brush because it's retractable, and it's good for powdering my nose.

That's it....what's in your makeup bag?
