everything's better with wine

Last weekend I had the pleasure of hanging with some of my best friends from law school.  Two flew in from New York and one from Los Angeles and it was one of my most fun weekends in a very long time.  It's so nice to have friends that I may not see or speak to in weeks, but when I see them it feels like nothing's changed.  We spent the whole time eating, talking and cackling and it was awesome.  On Sunday, three of us went on an epic wine tasting tour.  We somehow managed to visit Iron Horse Vineyards, Lynmar Estates, Gary Farrell Vineyards, Stuhlmueller Vineyards and Hawkes Winery.

I loved the sparkling wine at Iron Horse Vineyards and the Chardonnay from Stuhlmueller, which was a surprise to me because I am a self-professed Chardonnay-hater.  I thought all of the cheap wine at law firm receptions soured me on the wine for eternity, but I had to reconsider my position after last weekend!

summer's last hurrah

The rest of the country may be gearing up for the last weekend of summer, but in the Bay Area, Labor Day sort of marks the beginning of the season.  We typically have the best and warmest weather in September and October.  Guess that means that I'll be putting of fall fashion purchases for a bit longer (which is a total bummer since all I want to do is walk around in turtlenecks and boots!).
