Summer Makeup Trends | Top 5
We've just had the unofficial start to summer, so I thought it was fitting to do a roundup of some summer makeup trends. I definitely like a more classic, glowy, natural makeup look, but it's nice to incorporate new trends into my look to switch things up.https://youtu.be/zOZP2zIFPuQ

I go into detail on my top picks for summer makeup trends in the video, but here's a little overview and some inspiration pictures:
holographic makeup | summer makeup trends
[xyz-ihs snippet="holographic-makeup"]This makeup trend is probably the most out of my comfort zone, but when done right, it's really pretty. I mention the ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in Monster and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Shimmering Amethyst in the video because I think they're on the more natural side. Well, holograms aren't really natural, but I think you guys know what I mean.
glossy eyelids | summer makeup trends
[xyz-ihs snippet="glossy-lids-2"]Now this is a trend that looks so cool but can also look really crazy. I definitely think this is more of an editorial / edgy trend, but I tried using the Sephora Colorful Gloss Balm in Tan Lines and liked it! I just dab it lightly on my eye lids. It gives me a slight sheen but it's not super glossy and it's actually pretty comfortable to wear.
monochrome makeup | summer makeup trends
A post shared by BEAUTY IS BORING 💋 (@beautyisboring_) on
This is probably my favorite summer makeup trend. Honestly it's been going strong for a few months now, but more and more brands are coming out with multi-use products. I've mentioned the Bite Multisticks before, but a few other brands have jumped on the monochrome makeup trend. Nudestix also has the All Over Face Color that looks perfect for the monochrome makeup trend.
popsicle lips | summer makeup trends
[xyz-ihs snippet="popsicle-lips"]Popsicle lips are a really cute trend that's been big in Asia for a minute. But it's now becoming big here and a few brands have come out their version of a lip stain. I love Glossier's Generation G lipstick because it's comfortable on the lips and is super easy to wear (shop with me to get 20% off your first purchase). ColourPop also came out with a liquid lipstick version called Ultra Blotted Lips that looks cool, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
sunset eyes | summer makeup trends
[xyz-ihs snippet="sunset-eyes"]Now this trend is just stunning. I'm soo annoyed that I didn't buy the Natasha Denona Sunset Palette. It's crazy expensive ($130 or so), but it's gorgeous. And the quality of ND eyeshadows is beyond anything else that I've tried. Ugh...why did I have to decide to be (somewhat) financially responsible right before this came out?I have the video showing up top, but in case you're having trouble, here's a link to the video.
