Pura Vida! {Costa Rica Photo Diary}

costa-rica-photo-diaryI spent last week in Costa Rica with one of my good friends from law school and had an absolutely amazing time.  I'd never been to Central America before and wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  The weather was amazing, and the landscape was the must lush and vibrant place that I've even visited.  Literally the whole country was alive in the best possible way!langosta-beach-cala-luna

This beach was really gorgeous and reminded me a bit of Laguna Beach in California because of the rocky coast and tide pools.  There were tiny crabs all over the sand (they didn't bite!) and larger crabs all along the rocks.  The water was warm and the waves were steady but pretty gentle.poolside-drinks-tamarindo-margarita

One day we drove a couple of hours to Rio Perdido, which has natural hot springs.  This was the first actual hot river that I'd seen and it was incredible.  The water was jacuzzi warm and of course we also indulged in spreading the sulfur-rich mud all over our bodies.  This was such a unique experience and it was just phenomenal.

{Leaving Playa Huevos}

On our last full day in Costa Rica, we took a cruise to nearby Playa Huevos where we went snorkeling.  This was super fun and the boat ride and snorkeling provided a much needed escape from the mosquitos!  On the way back, looking at the setting sun, I reflected on how blessed I was to have such an amazing experience.  Costa Rica truly was a fantastic vacation and I can't wait to return.  Pura Vida!
