Sophisticated Makeup Look
Although I love trying out new makeup trends, I do have a 9-5, so realistically my everyday makeup is pretty toned down. I think that makeup for work should be polished, pretty, sophisticated and natural....easier said than done, no? Here's a look that accomplishes all of that, but can be achieved with just a handful of products. 1. I started with my basic moisturizer and sunscreen (mentioned here).2. Next I used my MAC 217 brush to apply MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist all over my lid. Constructivist is a bronzey-brown with very subtle red shimmers. I like MAC Paint Pots because they are long-lasting and crease-resistant. Super pretty and really flattering. It's suitable for a wide range of skin tones because it can be sheered-out or applied more heavily. It would also be a great base for a smokey eye. Here's a swatch:3. I applied my new favorite product, YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush in 10 directly from the tube to my cheeks (also mentioned here). I used my MAC 129 brush to blend it out. This color is a very flattering pinky brown. It applies very sheer to the cheeks, but can be built up for more color. This is a great neutral color for me, and it's very similar to MAC Sweet As Cocoa blush. Here's a swatch, applied heavily and sheered out:4. I applied EOS lip balm first, then MAC Stripdown lip pencil all over my lips (makes a good base).5. The YSL color to my lips (over my EOS lip balm).6. I applied MAC mascara (mentioned here and here).Voilá.
