Lovely Lavender
I've been super into lavender shades lately, so thought I'd share my favorite lavender lip colors. Some are old and others are new, but all are super fab and wearable for many skin tones.I think this lavender is really great for a bright lip color that's different from the usual pink or coral. I've had difficulty with this shade in the past because it can come across too cool or too blue, resulting in a really stark look. The key is to find shades that have a little pink in them or that are not too opaque so that some of your natural lip color shows through. Another tip for wearing lavender on the lips is to completely line and fill in your lips with a pink or peach nude shade first. Here are swatches:MAC Lavender Whip was a limited edition shade that was released last summer, but luckily Maybelline's Lilac Flush is very similar for less than half of the price!Colourpop Brills is a blue-based lavender shade that is the brightest of the bunch. It is matte without being drying and very opaque. I reviewed a few other lipsticks from Colorpop here.NARS Dominique is a lovely formula from the "Audacious" line. This shade is described on the NARS website as a "pink lilac" but it is darker in person than the description implies. However, I think the deeper tone makes it more unique and very beautiful. I haven't seen anything quite like this and the formula is super creamy and opaque.NARS Anees Folles is a very sheer lilac gloss that is good for wearing on top of any of these looks to add shine without dulling the color at all. On it's own, it is very sheer and doesn't leave much color, but it's comfortable to wear.Shop the post below:[xyz-ihs snippet="lavender"]Like what you see?Like beautyluxelife on Facebook here.Follow along on Bloglovin' here.
