High End vs. Drugstore Mascara | Empties

I haven't done another empties post, but trust me, I have been working my way through lots of skincare and beauty products.  You guys know that I LOVE drugstore mascara.  Most of the time, I'm using something from Maybelline, but I have tried a few much more expensive mascaras too.  So for this empties post I decided to review a few of the mascaras that I've finished lately.High end vs. drugstore mascara. What's your favorite? adiaadores.comDior is known for amazing mascara.  I remember when Diorshow came out a few years ago, everyone was going crazy.  I think Dior sort of set the bar for high end mascara.  It became totally OK to drop $30 on a mascara.  So, I was expecting to be very impressed when I tried two shades of Diorshow mascara.*High end vs. drugstore mascara. What's your favorite? adiaadores.comI received Diorshow mascara in 288 (royal blue) and 088 (graphite).  And honestly, I was a bit disappointed.  Although the brush is great - really big and spreads out the lashes nicely - but the formula just didn't amp up my lashes.  The formula felt dry and I had to layer a few coats of mascara to get the volume that I like.  Don't get me wrong, after a few coats, I got really separated and darkened lashes, but I don't like to work that hard on my lashes.I also think that I'm just more into jet black mascara.  I get that colored mascara can be a fun thing to play around with, but I'm more basic and really just want black.  What can I say? #basicIn the last few months, I also tried out the Diorshow Blackout mascara.  For this mascara, I had the opposite issue, I found the formula too wet.  Despite having the same great brush as the other mascaras, the formula made my lashes stick together.  But, the formula was a super dark and very glossy black.  I think if your lashes are on the thin side, the Diorshow Blackout mascara might work really well, but it just didn't work for me.High end vs. drugstore mascara. What's your favorite? adiaadores.comNext I have a long time favorite.  The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara has been featured in many of my monthly favorites so I won't repeat myself (too much).  This mascara has a big fluffy brush that really coats the lashes in mascara but keeps them from clumping.  This is probably my favorite mascara of all time because it gives me volume, separation and drama :-)High end vs. drugstore mascara. What's your favorite? adiaadores.comAnd last, we have a good old drugstore mascara.  Maybelline Lash Sensational waterproof mascara is a cult favorite.  It's a super popular mascara and I picked it up after hearing yet another beauty blogger rave about it.  It's popular for a reason.  The synthetic brush layers mascara all over your lashes but somehow prevents clumping.  The color is super black and it stays put.  This mascara literally does not budge, which is both good and bad.High end vs. drugstore mascara. What's your favorite? adiaadores.comOut of all of these mascaras, the only two that I'd repurchase are the Too Faced Better Than Sex and Maybelline Lash Sensational.  I hate to say it, but I think I'm done with Diorshow (at least for now). So, let me know, do you reach for high end or drugstore mascara?  Let me know your favorites in the comments below.
