Five Beauty Products to Finish {Fall 2015 Edition}
Happy first day of Fall! On Monday, I shared with you the (shameful) results of my Five To Finish Challenge from the summer. As promised, I'm back with my picks for fall. And this time, I'm definitely going to finish at least one thing!
- L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Blushing. I discovered these super glossy and highly pigmented lip glosses earlier this year, and can't say enough good things about them. Blushing is a beautiful pinkish violet shade that would look good with a simple gold eyeshadow (like the Kevyn Aucoin one that I used in my last tutorial), or with a much darker vampy eye. I like that this product has a glossy finish, but it's not so shiny that I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it to work. These L.A. Girl Lip Paints are so full of color and very affordable, so I definitely recommend that you check them out next time you're in your local beauty supply store.
- MAC Eye Kohl in Powersurge. This is a very pretty and unique khaki/gold colored eye liner. I like to smudge this all over my eyelid for a quick and easy eyeshadow that will stay put all day. This would also work as a very subtle and low key eyeliner. MAC's Eye Kohls are not too soft or too dense, so they work well as eyeshadows. I wouldn't recommend them for a super precise line just because the pencil tends to wear down quickly so it's hard to maintain a sharp edge.
- NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in More. I love the texture of these lipstick/lipgloss hybrids. The pencil form allows you to get a neat application, which can sometimes be difficult to achieve with a traditional lip gloss. However, there's still enough of a glossy finish. This shade More is a perfect toffee color that works great as an everyday lip color for me. I'm actually surprised that I haven't finished it so far since it's such a versatile shade, but no worries, I'll be sure to finish it off.
- MAC Electric Cool Eye Shadow in Coil. I first mentioned this product last year when MAC debuted their Electric Cool Eye Shadows (see review here) and promptly forgot about it. I re-discovered it a couple of weeks ago when I was thinking about Fall 2015 makeup trends and different ways to achieve a bronze eyeshadow look for fall. I love cream eye shadows, and this color is a perfect bronze/red shade that is so flattering on many different skin tones. Luckily, MAC re-released their Electric Cool Eye Shadows with several new colors, so you can pick them up at MAC counters now.
- ColourPop Cosmetics Sheer Lippie Stix in Tiger. This roundup is very lip product heavy, but I have so many good ones in my stash that just haven't gotten their due! I am a huge fan of ColourPop Cosmetics, and their sheer lipsticks are the perfect things to just keep in your bag and pop on whenever you need some color. They are pretty moisturizing and the thin tube makes it easy to apply neatly. Tiger is the perfect purple/berry color that's just right for fall. Plus they're only $5, so what's not to love?
