Clinique Chubby In The Nude Foundation Stick: Perfect for Travel

I'm back with another foundation review, this time with the Clinique Chubby In The Nude Foundation Stick.  The name is a mouthful, but the foundation is bomb.  I actually don't know what prompted me to grab this foundation, but it was probably because I'm always on the lookout for travel friendly makeup.  Also, it's probably been years since I've tried anything by Clinique other than skincare, so I was like "Why not?" {Side note: this line of thinking has gotten me in way too much trouble LOL.}clinique chubby in the nude foundationI picked up shade 24 - Gargantuan Golden, and it's a good match for my skin.  When I first applied it to my face, it looked a bit too dark, but it blended out nicely.  I love that this has a strong yellow/golden undertone.  Sometimes makeup brands make darker colors with a strong reddish undertone, so I was really happy that wasn't the case.  This foundation is light coverage, but it can definitely be layered for medium coverage.  I love how smooth it is without being too creamy or heavy.  I've used this when I'm rushing to get myself together and I'll just swipe it down the center of my face and blend out with my fingers.  Love that you don't necessarily need a brush for this foundation to look good.clinique chubby in the nude foundation stickclinique chubby in the nude foundationFor this #fotd, I took a bit more time and blended it out with a small buffing brush (I highly recommend the Real Techniques buffing brush featured here).  Both ways produced a smooth finish with not much effort.  So, this is a great foundation for travel or for keeping in your makeup bag or gym bag.  I have combination skin and the weather has been warming up here, so my nose got shiny towards the afternoon (I didn't powder my nose or use any mattifying products).  If you have oily skin, I'd recommend a primer or setting with powder.  If you have dry skin, this might be perfect for you.  I really like this foundation because the color selection is really good, it looks good on, and it's just easy to wear. Here are swatches comparing the Clinique Chubby In the Nude Foundation Stick to two other foundations that I've reviewed as part of this Spring Foundations series -  Diorskin Nude Air Serum SPF 20 and Giorgio Armani Maestro Glow:clinique chubby in the nude foundation stick swatchesAs you can see, it's a very close match to the Armani Maestro Glow foundation, but it just a bit more golden.  Both the Armani and Clinique foundations appear much darker than the Dior, but they both tend to sheer out when applied, making them lighter on the face.  Also, the Dior foundation oxidizes and darkens a little on the face, so when it's all said and done they actually all work for me even though they look way different when swatched on my inner arm.[highlighted_text]A note about swatches:  I usually swatch on my inner arm, which is by far one of the lightest places on my body!  My face is a bit darker, so keep in that in mind when looking at my swatches.[/highlighted_text]In case you're curious, here's what I'm wearing on my face:Clinique Chubby In the Nude Foundation Stick in 24 Golden Gargantuan (10% off at Nordstrom!) // NARS blush in Deep Throat // ColourPop Cosmetics Creme Gel Color in Show Me // Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (still one of my favorite mascaras) // ColourPop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Cake topped by Chanel Glossimer in #41Also, I primed my face with the Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer, and I really like it.  I don't use primer every day (because I use the Giorgio Armani sunscreen that I just reviewed and it doubles as a primer), but when my skin feels a little dry, this is PERFECT.  It adds moisture but no greasiness and just makes my skin super smooth.  It's a great primer and doesn't irritate my skin (no silicone!).  I LOVE it.What are your favorite travel-friendly foundations?  Let me know!
