Beach-Inspired Makeup

Being a true California girl, I absolutely love being at the beach and feel so at peace by the water.  The color of the ocean, the salt smell and the sound of the waves are so calming to me.  So of course, when I first saw Giorgio Armani's new Eye Tints, I was immediately drawn to the shimmery blue color.  Now, I realize that blue eyeshadow on anyone, especially someone with darker skin, can be, well, tricky.  But being a cream formula that has a little gold shimmer, it's actually very wearable and so pretty.  I also like that this formula is long-lasting and easy to apply.  I've worn this sheered out to create an easy beachy look, or layered to get a more opaque 60s mod look.  Both ways are very flattering, but I'm really into the beach-inspired look featuring bronze cheeks and peachy lips

Since the Giorgio Armani Eye Tint is a liquid-to-powder formula, it's super easy to apply.  It also comes in 11 other colors, so if you're in the market for an easy eye shadow that's long lasting, you should definitely check it out.

I like to play up this carefree vibe by just sweeping this shimmery bronzing powder from MAC all along my cheekbones.  For lips, one of my favorite nude/peach lipsticks is Freckletone from MAC.  This is great on its own or with a nude pencil like Cork.  However, to make it look more peach or coral, I sometimes use Lasting Sensation lipliner.  Another really pretty coral lip color is James, which was part of Tom Ford's Lips and Boys collection.

Here are some swatches of the colors:

As you can see, these colors create a gorgeous beach-inspired summer makeup look.  I know how I'll be doing my makeup tomorrow...
