In Rotation: Facial Oils | The Best Facial Oils Period.

So, it's no secret that I LOVE facial oils. It just feels so luxurious to pat a little oil on my face. Plus, they can be super moisturizing and help with lots of other skin issues. I've been using these two facial oils for the past couple of months, so I can say for sure that they really pamper my skin. I feel like I'm really doing something special when I wear them, but I also notice that my skin looks better, too, so it's not just about how they feel.

The facial oils I'm using and loving.

Cover FX Custom Infusing Drops - CalmingAs soon as I read about these drops, which come in 4 different formulas to target different skincare issues (calming, hydration, radiance and anti-aging), I was super excited about the calming and radiance drops. I'm always looking for new ways to make my skin as glowy as possible (side note: did you check out my recent post about subtle highlighters?), but I bought the calming drops because they sounded so unique and something good to just have on hand.

The Calming Drops have chamomile oil and vitamin E and I use these in 2 different ways:

1) After using a really active product. For example, my Sunday Riley Good Genes treatment has lactic acid, which is a pretty strong exfoliant, so I use the drops to keep my skin from over reacting to it. I also use this after using any kind of clay mask, like my Caudalie Purifying Mask. I've never had any reaction to this mask, but clay masks can be drying and kind of harsh since the clay basically dries on your skin to draw out impurities.

2) When I want to sheer out any foundation. Lots of people use beauty oils to thin out their foundations because they add some slip and make any foundation more sheer. I like to add a couple of drops whenever I just want a more lightweight and radiant finish. Even though this isn't specifically a radiance boosting product, the fact that it is an oil does add a tiny bit of glow, which is fine by me.

The Cover FX Custom Infusing Drops are available at Sephora for $48 for .5oz.  It's a small bottle, but a little goes a long way so it will last a while.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery ConcentrateI actually got these as part of a gift set at Nordstrom a couple months back. I was just looking for a basic moisturizer, and they had a gift set with the Ultra Facial Moisturizer (also using this now, but during the day) and this facial oil. I'm a sucker for a cute makeup bag with some samples in it (SMH), so obviously I bought the set. This oil has evening primrose oil (repairs), lavender essential oil (soothes) and squaline (moisturizes), so it's really nice to wear at night. You can also add this to your bath or to your body moisturizer. I really love this oil because even though it's moisturizing, it's not too heavy at all. It soaks right into my skin so it doesn't leave me all greasy. Plus, a little goes a LONG way, so I think you definitely get your money's worth. I have a 1 oz bottle (retails alone for $46) and after almost 2 months of nightly use, I've probably only used 20% of the bottle, so this will probably last me another 6 months, easy.

The Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate is available at Nordstrom for $46 for 1oz.

I'm really happy with these two oils and think they're definitely worth checking out if you have sensitive and/or dry skin.
